Watercolor paintings have always excited me. As I gained confidence as a realistic watercolorist, I found I especially loved painting desert flowers and plants, which I see as some of the most beautiful flora in the world. In particular, the desert cactii with their beautiful flowers encourage me to paint them. Bright, vivid colors thrill me, so I try to incorporate them in all of my paintings. I also love painting traditional floral watercolors.
Painting is a source of joy for me, but hard work also. A finished painting gives me a sense of satisfaction and passion that few things can. The greatest feeling is to have someone say that they love one of my paintings. My objective in my art is to evoke that kind of emotion–to stir a small part of someone deep inside them.
